Celebrating the Birth of Your Child
The arrival of a new baby into your family is an important time in your life and many people choose to mark the occasion with a special event. In this church, we like to offer flexibility as to what this event might look like and offer these options:
Baptism
A baptism with water during the Sunday morning service. Godparents are included and recognised within the service, and the Parents and Godparents make promises to the child and to God. The child will receive a candle and a Bible or book
Thanksgiving
This could take the form of a thanksgiving, dedication or naming/blessing ceremony during the Sunday morning service. The format and wording will be decided in discussion with the Minister.
Godparents/Sponsors are welcome but not essential. The child will receive a gift.
With both types of service we offer an opportunity to recognise this significant event in your lives and to add a spiritual dimension to it. These options can be discussed in full with the Minister and/or Children & Family Worker. Please feel free to contact us for more information.
